Feels like Wits End

I was having a conversation with someone I love recently, she is in a tough spot right now. Her Mom passed away several years ago and her husband is still alive and living in the home they shared but his health is failing more and more each day. He is confined to a wheel chair and as of now he is having severe memory issues. He was having problems with falls. So another part of the problem is that she lives over 4 hours away from him. He has no other family closer. Being a caregiver is tough as it is but being one from a distance is just extra hard. On top of that she struggles with him not wanting to leave his home and also not remembering anything practically.

When we last spoke, of course I am not in the health care field so I can’t really be of assistance there so as we spoke and I could hear her frustration and stress I told her – Look, as his care giver and his family I know that I know you always have an always will do all you do with love in your heart for him God knows you want the best for him and I believe He will bring it. That said you need to do what’s best for him but also you too. If you are at an impasse then pray about it first. God will bring your answers.  Trust that.

Psalm 121:1-2 (NIV)    A song of ascents. I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth

Sometimes God doesn’t bring us the answer in our time – but He always brings it in His. Sometimes God does not give us the answer we asked for – but He always brings us His best. We may not realize this at the time but when you step back and look later you’ll see it was for the best.

I believe in this totally. I mean imagine if you will… your situation. I’ll explain what I mean like I told a friend several years back – he was really struggling with seeking a mate and not finding one. I said “Look, God knows! I mean He knows! He has the ability to look at the people you are surrounded by and He knows if any or none of them are His best for you. If that person is not in your life yet then He will tell you – (not NO) just Not yet. It might feel like no but sometimes its just not yet. Be patient and remember that when He sees that perfect person He will let you know. Don’t you want to wait for His best for you? Trust me its worth it.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I pray for this man and his health. You are the holy healer so please provide some relief for him health wise and memory wise. Lord give him some peace and well being. I also ask for peace and discernment for his care giver. Please help her know what the plan is and put it in motion without feeling guilty or stressed. Let what she lands on to do be YOUR best for him and for her. Give her peace in this situation so she can manage him and her own life. Lord please be with her health wise as well since we know that stress can mess up a person’s health. I trust Your hands on this entire situation. I thank you in advance for all I know You will do. In Jesus Name I pray. AMEN
