This time of year it’s so easy to loose sight of exactly why we celebrate Christmas. Getting caught up in the whirlwind of gifts, decorating, parties, dinners and all that goes along with the Christmas holiday.

I find myself now that I’m a grandma getting myself wrapped up in gifts to my Grandchildren. Oh and how I love to watch them open, the joy on their faces. It’s so amazing. The other thing, we have done in years past is bring the older two in service with us at Christmas, there are Christmas Carols and usually a candle lite time. That never gets old to me, but even more exciting is to see my grandchildren holding a candle and swaying to the music, standing on their chair to see the screen where all the candles are all you see.. what a site. Their faces are innocent, star struck and just so wonderful. They are in awe and it shows. They both even though they are young, they know about Jesus, they know He IS the reason we celebrate. Celebrating His birth is an honor and a joy to me for so many reasons.
Luke 2:8-11 (New International Version) And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
Today, I am thankful, Thankful that I am free to celebrate the birth of Christ, that I enjoy celebrating that. That my kids celebrate, that they have taught my grandchildren to love Jesus. That alone is the greatest gift I can think of to receive.
This time of year, I wish you all peace, much love and joy beyond measure. In Jesus Name
