She Just… Just Needs Confidence

Had lunch with a friend who I’ve always thought is just a super down to earth person. Lots of life experience and lots of hard knocks, and a good Godly woman, all of which have created in her a really strong person. What I heard her saying at lunch surprised me and really made me scratch my head about what to say or do. Se needs a reminder… WHO’S she is. now granted, she is aging just like all of us but she’s also got tons going for her.

Hebrews 10:35-36   ³⁵ So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. ³⁶ You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

Now I can identify with the older aches and pains, being in a body that really does not look like I want it to. Feeling more physically broken than put together. I also resemble all of those but the thing is if you succumb to that then there you are – nowhere. Besides, even the most broken can be used by God. Look at Mary Magdaline -she was possessed by demons and when Jesus cast them out she followed Him and boy what a difference maker she is. Rahab was a prostitute and ended up being used by God.

Isaiah 40:29 ESV    He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.

Psalm 73:26 ESV   My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

2 Timothy 1:7 ESV   For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

You can say all day long – this is not me. I am in a trapped body, I don’t look this way, I don’t hobble, I don’t have all these aches and pains. In my heart I am strong, steady and of normal stature. Maybe so, that’s the lion heart in you. The one God gave you. Let the lion heart stomp on the enemy who tells you – you are not enough. You are ugly, You are too damaged, you are not think enough. You are not pretty enough.

God says YOU ARE ENOUGH.

Here is what you are friend… You ARE a daughter of the Most High King

Lord, please be with my friend. Show her your mercy and grace and be with her as she realizes how loved and how wonderful she is. Lord if there are others out there struggling with the same please just put your loving arms around them and show them Your way. In Jesus most precious name I pray -  AMEN
